I was fortunate enough to be able to take a river cruise along the Danube. River cruising offers:

- Cruising is like staying on a floating hotel. You only need to unpack once, and get to visit a new port of call every day!
- River cruises tailor their onboard menus to reflect the region you’re sailing through, serving local wines, beer, and traditional dishes.
- Your time in port during a cruise is often limited a single day or afternoon, and often set sail in the evening or at night. If you are going to take a river cruise, you should definitely consider pre and post-cruise stays. This will give you an opportunity to experience the local nightlife, enjoy leisurely dinners at neighbourhood restaurants, and see the cities illuminated after dark.
